The breakdown of a relationship is a stressful time, especially if children are involved. Many people are unsure of their legal rights and obligations in relation to children's issues, property settlement, child support and spousal maintenance.

It is important that you obtain legal advice before you reach an agreement with the other party about property settlement, children's issues, spousal maintenance or child support.

We have experience in dealing with complex proceedings involving children. Legal aid may be available for some children's matters, provided that you meet the means and merits tests set by the Legal Services Commission of South Australia.

Recent amendments to the Family Law Act will apply to all defacto couples (both opposite sex and same sex couples) in South Australia who separate after 1 July 2010.  We can assist you if you are in a defacto relationship and are unsure of how the changes to the law affect you.

We can conduct negotiations with the other party and his/her solicitor on your behalf.  If the matters are resolved, we can draft the relevant legal documents to record the agreement.

If agreement cannot be reached between you and the other party, we can represent you in Court proceedings.

Our focus is on obtaining the best possible result for our clients in the most timely and cost effective manner.
